Dr. Folaranmi Babalola is a Reader in Social and Community Forestry in the Department of Forest Resources Management, University of Ilorin. He was the Acting Head of the Department (2016 to 2018) and was appointed the Chairman of Unilorin Teak Plantation (2017 to date). He was awarded the Vice Chancellor Postdoctoral Fellowship of the University of Pretoria, South Africa (2012) and an Extraordinary and Visiting Lecturer of Forest Science (2015). He has published over 150 scientific articles and presented the findings of his research at many local and international conferences. He is a recipient of 20 personal and collaborative grants, and more than 50 other international sponsorships. He was a consultant to FAO on Small Scale Forestry in Africa and an active members of professional societies. He served as an external examiners to Universities and has supervised 4 masters and 6 doctoral students. He is the Founder of the NGO “Save Sahara Network”.
